I used to be a beekeeper when I lived in Italy, and I wanted to do something with this beautiful and ancient material made by these beautiful and mysterious creatures. These collages are built up using photo transparencies embedded in layers of beeswax over layers of paper with ink drawings and photo transfers. They are then finally encased in a Varnish I created to look like beeswax in order to seal them and protect from damage. More iterations of these works not shown here are available.
