These are collages on the pages of a 1924 Book of Etiquette. The text shows through in many cases and adds an interesting glimpse at how much we’ve changed and how much we haven’t. Some of the rules still seem apt and some outdated. The imagery explores the themes of socialization and ritual: how we codify our desires and need for sustenance, shelter, status, love, sex, procreation, companionship, and creation. Politeness can hold it all together or barely mask our animal nature.
